It’s Christmas in our House

20131221-085534.jpg

One of the things we purchased this year with some of our wedding gift cards was a chandelier card holder from Crate & Barrel. We are loving the card display (well more like I am), but it has made our house so Christmasy. Not only do I love putting new cards up everyday, but I’m eager to go to our mailbox to see what comes in. I’m so thankful for friends and family who are thinking of us this year. We love all the cards and photos.

Now, if only I could get my butt in gear and create a card of our own. I imagine it would be something like a photo of Scotty and I holding our house plants. Me, holding the money plant like a love child (our baby furn) and Scotty gazing over my shoulder with this endearing look. Something like…

What do you think?

If anyone knows us, they know the story of our plants. We get the questions like, when are you having kids? When are you getting a dog? Right now, it’s hard enough to keep our plants alive so we’re focusing on our green babies for the moment.

Weekend in Paradise

We spent a wonderful weekend with our friends George and Becca in Sanibel, Florida to celebrate the wedding of Bobbie and Angela. It was such a great and relaxing time. The bride looked gorgeous and there were lots of laughs, sun and drinks…oh and bug bites. I seriously thought we got bed bugs while we were there. I have since calmed down, kind of:)

The wedding reminded me of how much we have left to do. Almost three months left and there is so so so much to plan.

And we’re off! First drinks of the trip on the plane. Connections were a bit tight, but we made it!

Some serious fun in the sun. This was the rehearsal dinner cruise we went on. Such a beautiful sunset

Work hard, play harder. The beaches there were gorgeous and we enjoyed every minute of it.

You can tell Scotty was NOT enjoying the trip:)

There’s always room for a self taken beach pic..jealous? :)

This pis gets me every time, too funny. Had such a great time with this couple, even though George had his cell phone attached at the hip

Home for the holidays

Still on the engagement high, Scotty and I quickly eased into the holidays. We couldn’t wait to celebrate with both of our families. So, we packed up and went to Glenwood for Thanksgiving.

We celebrated all weekend. Mostly eating, but I fit in some cooking and made these delicious butternut squash soup bowls. It was a definite hit.
